The Plight of Journalists in Gaza
- Qem 3y ago> The Committee to Protect Journalists says more people engaged in journalism have been killed in the Israel-Hamas conflict than in a single country in any year since the group began tracking journalist killings in 1992.
- dang 3y agoFor several months your submissions to hN (dozens of them) have been primarily, maybe even exclusively, political. Can you please stop doing that? It's not the intended use of the site, regardless of what you're for or against. https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://hn.algolia.com/?sort=byDate&dateRange=all&type=comment&storyText=false&prefix=false&page=0&query=primarily%20test%20by:dang https://hn.algolia.com/?sort=byDate&dateRange=all&type=comme... An occasional political submission is fine, but it should not be the majority of what you post, and there should be some intellectually interesting aspect to the story.
- Qem 3y agoI'm sorry dang. Will try to restrict submissions on this subject to those presenting more intellectually interesting aspects. This whole situation became hard to ignore for me, like, for the past 3 months I can't even sleep well, turn the lights off and lie down, my mind wanders and start thinking what is like to be trapped under rubble. It's awful. But at least I think I manage to be civil in my interactions here, and to contribute to discussions in a positive way. Regarding intellectually interesting submissions, I think several of mine that qualify as such, approaching the subject with investigative, technical or legal focus, were flagged without basis in the past, so looking forward I also request moderators to be more careful in checking if flags are being properly applied or misused.
