We banned single-use plastic bags. Now we're tossing more plastic. What gives?
- rmason 3y agoWhen I was growing up all the supermarkets used paper bags. Then all of a sudden paper bags were bad. Move to plastic and save a tree we were told. I never liked plastic bags but all of a sudden we weren't offered a choice. We did far more irreparable harm to our planet in order to save the trees. But we can replant a tree where one was harvested so net net we never lost any trees at all by using paper bags.

Because your ego is too big and you are too infatuated with stroking it by "saving the planet" you didn't apply common sense. Plastic shopping bags, for everyone I know, were never "single use". You bring groceries home in them, then you use them in small trashes as trash bags, or use them in your gym bag for your sweaty gross clothes. Now you are forcing me to purchase what are truly single use plastic bags, because you took the free ones away. Additionally we have now added a paper bag, a second single use bag into the equation. Thanks smarty pants.
