Biden puts $60M into three geothermal energy projects
- ghxst 3y agoForigve me since I am not from the US but are these areas where you naturally have a lot of geothermal activity? Or could this be done in many other parts of the world? Or maybe a broader question is how will these projects differ from the well known ones in places like Iceland for example?
- BandButcher 3y agoSo i did some quick "research", based on a government analysis, the areas chosen in the US for these energy projects have "low cost ESGs" or lower than other areas in the US. The ESG Wikipedia article: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enhanced_geothermal_system https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enhanced_geothermal_system suggests that this could be done anywhere in the world, due to ESGs nature of injecting fluids manually.
