  Sure, but the layout was screwed up and the fonts and sizes were wrong. Certainly this is helpful: it's better to be able to open a document and then have to manually fix those issues than to be unable to open it at all. But it was far from perfect.

    It's orders of magnitude better than "I can't open this file at all, -1"?

    agreed, but you could probably export as rich text or something.
