People are exceptionally weird about news consumption. Some of my most politically active friends in NYC admit they don't read local news, when brining up specific things. It's not like we are a small town either, I'm talking about NYC news vs National News. Everyone is too busy putting on their red/blue hats and voting for their national sports team, and not paying attention to what is happening in their local communities.. where their votes have more impact.
