I think this would only work if you are a well established leader with a lot of social capital in the company. I would seriously doubt if the cooperation/quality of the answers would be there if you are walking into a new team without demonstrated core competence, trying to be a boss and asking someone to teach you things at the same time.
- eschneider 3y agoOn the contrary. Talking to people, finding out what they think is important, and acting on it, is the best way to build cooperation and capital.
- KuriousCat 3y agoSure, sounds good when you are a peer. Why would I want to report to one that had to be trained? Why would one get to be my boss when he does not have the competence?
