You actually expect social Etiquette at geek camp?
Seriously, these are adults attending these conferences. Trust me, if they are doing things like this - they will never "get it" socially. Thus - this is nothing but a pointless rant.
- sp332 14y agoI don't think I can write a HN-worthy response to this. I'm really just disappointed and a little offended. Socially inept people are not beyond help. Giving up on them, and encouraging everyone else to treat them as hopeless cases, is not constructive and can easily become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Most social conventions are not innate. Everyone has to learn them at some point. Some are just later than others.
