- nonrandomstring 3y agoInnovation is always tinged with tragedy, and nothing more so than the drive to make ever cheaper and more hands-off weapons. Drones are a fine terrorists weapon. A lesson from talking to combat veterans is "war always comes home".
- dsq 3y agoLasers have the potential to be an excellent defense against drones, especially in a dense urban environment or where you have friendly troops nearby and you don't want to use a Phalanx firing thousands of shells per minute at a target a few dozen or few hundred meters away. Mounted on a tank or APC, lasers can fire over the heads of your friendly troops and burn the drone.
