A follow-up comment by the author indicates much of this is a bug having to do with Excel specifically, since a lossless PNG screenshot doesn't exhibit this behavior.
- pixelesque 3y agoThe use-case of viewing images is possibly (likely?) special-cased to be mip-mapped for correctly filtering / downsampling them, whereas generic applications which draw arbitrary content to the frame buffer likely don't have this?
