What Developers Could Learn from Talking to the Support Team.
this is just as important.
I agree that you cannot please all of the people all of the time, but decisions from those who never see the actual impact on Support is a negative for those doing the Support.
- JohnFen 3y agoI think the main thing that often gets lost is that all of these different teams are actually subsets of a larger team. As with any team, it's important for everyone in it to be aware of what other team members are doing, what their needs are, and so forth. It doesn't matter if the team members are devs, support, design, management, etc. Everyone has to be on the same page and understand each other.
- markx2 3y agoThat would have been nice. Deploy change on Friday ...... have a lovely weekend off. Wander in Monday and wonder why everyone hates you. It never changed. Same page? Often it wasn't even the same book.
- JohnFen 3y ago> Deploy change on Friday I will never understand why any organization even allows Friday or pre-holiday deployments. It's just so obviously a terrible idea on its face.
- nesquarx 3y agoHonestly, designers should be the glue, between support, PM, dev, marketing, and business - that's one of the key responsibilities of UX leadership. Without that clear cross communication, it's always a game of chinese whispers ending in horrible outputs and everyone blaming each other.
