There are probably better sources now than the original paper for an implementer to reference, and you probably want a vector clock, but it’s still worth a quick perusal at a minimum. It’s just good clear scientific writing.
I suspect that when the histories are written that the name Lamport will appear right up there with Knuth, Dijkstra, and other such seminal contributors to the field of computing science.

- LAC-Tech 3y agoI more meant "I didn't worry about the bit with the algorithm". The first bit of the paper is everything it's cracked up to be.
