In a sense houses are simulations, shopping malls are simulations, even clothes are simulations. Mostly in order to make our lives warmer or otherwise more pleasant than being naked and hungry outside in the cold. Almost all of the environment we live in is in some way artificial and constructed for our benefit. And that's a good thing.
