- mass_and_energy 3y agoActually, some of the affected communities weren't seen as profitable enough to run cable/fibre for internet and as such rely on POTS for calling 911. Indeed most of us are POTS -> an ASA in your basement -> TCP/IP, but there's a distinct subset of the population that's reliant on POTS
