I believe Kickstarter is the perfect place to start a company around a successful product. Looking at how long its taking to finish the funding goal, I think the best thing that can happen for Light table and its users would be a commercial IDE spun out of this project to push boundaries and make programming more enjoyable. To keep it open source, it would be great if there are two channels - a commercial one and a community one (just like jetbrains intellij IDE).
