Ethereum Mainnet is losing transaction count – is Web3 in trouble?
- duckman1 3y agoWhy are you people still talking about this Web3 stuff?
- tristantao 3y agoSorry for the click bait title - this is a blog to quickly show case how Web3 is doing from the activity level perspective (as opposed to asset prices!)
- jprd 3y agoWhoa - are we still doing "Web3"? I mean no disrespect, I just thought this died with NFTs?
- tristantao 3y agoHa! NFTs are an application of the Web3 tech. The volume of retail NFT is definitely heavily trending down... But there are other applications! This is good idea to dig into a future post - where are the innovation in Web3. The data suggests that the activity level is definitely going up, but certainly not with NFTs overall. #RIP
- JumpCrisscross 3y ago> data suggests that the activity level is definitely going up Which data? I, too, thought Web3 had been put to rest.
- tristantao 3y agoDid you read the blogpost? It's filled with data...
- I_Am_Nous 3y agoThe cynic in me wonders how much easier it is to run a wash trading scheme to pump up something now that the Layer 2 network is taking more than just smart contracts. The L2 network provides a ledger which can change much more quickly than traditional wallet to wallet transfers, faster even than exchange wallet to exchange wallet. That said, I believe of the remaining viable cryptocurrencies the Ethereum blockchain is the most impressive to me. It attempts to provide real solutions to the many problems crypto has, and switching to proof of stake reduces power usage in general for the network, as does the L2 network. So if crypto is bad, Eth is possibly least bad lol
