Usually we look to the US as the epicenter of tech trends that then ripple to the rest of the world - but when it comes to the mass layoffs the strength of Europe's worker rights and unions really leads to severely different experiences despite being in the same industry.
Of course we too have hiring freezes and co. here, but nowhere near the devastatingly huge layoff swathes. They would hardly be legal without prior negotiations.
