I think I'd take a 20% pay cut to go back to the office for a job I like as much as the one I have now. Assuming 100% of coworkers were also in the office.

- therm0 3y agoIf you’re willing to move to a flyover state you could probably reach out to recruiters in the morning and have an offer in hand by lunch. Even the hybrid openings in the midwest/south are bait-and-switch and will be fully onsite soon. Alternatively there are a lot of positions open at national labs which are onsite, and many work on interesting problems.
- paulcole 3y agoYeah not willing to move to a flyover state lol. I’m in the PNW (Portland, OR) and not really interested in moving.
