Being a sci-fi fan (and a trekkie), I've thought of all the exotic power sources we could have, but unfortunately in our universe we have strict physical laws. SMRs (Small Modular Reactors) on the other hand are very much real and I hope in a few decades will be more practical for all sorts of things, including my laser-paver :-)
