  There are people in my life, and I expect yours, who simply cannot see the long, slow avalanche of the consequences of their decisions until they arrive en mass, at which point they attribute them to bad luck. But think of all of the nights they got to sleep like a baby in the meantime, rather than worrying about what the costs would be for their actions.
