Please explain to a foreigner, what the hell happened to make her enemy #1?

  She is extremely popular. By some estimates, her fan base is about the same as the number of people who voted in the last election. In a nut shell, the right wing is scared she will endorse a candidate on the left and increase the odds that sanity will prevail.

    Counting on Taylor Swift to save the left is, at best, a Hail Mary. Trump will win, for good or ill.

      TayTay makes her own money. She isn't on anyone's payroll as far as I know --- contrary to right wing propaganda. So no one is "counting on her" for anything.
