Just traded my 2008 Ford Explorer, had to replace three water pumps in 120,000 miles. Talked with a salesman for the company that makes the pump and also sells to Honda. He said Ford buys a cheaper pump than Honda and its not designed to last very long but it is very cheap. I am part of a three generation Ford family and just bought a new Honda Acura MDX which I like very much. The software isn't great and the two touchpads are a horrible design (getting replaced with a touch screen in 2025) but those are the only problems that I have found so far.
