An engineer (for whom I do occasional handyman work) recently disclosed to OEM a "pending public safety notice" that Tesla had an egregious craftsmanship issue within the chasis of a major product. Tesla's initial response was "can you please wait longer to disclose this?" -- Just another Boeing-like example of why industry self-regulation/compliance doesn't really mean shit when profit-seeking for share-holders is legally directive #1.
