Late last year over the span of two months I got the privilege of learning how to diagnose and repair problems with my water heater (bad flame sensor), HVAC (feather/cruft blocking a tube), and oven (bottom element burned out).
While I’m glad enough to save the money, definitely not eager to learn how to fix the fridge too.
- daxfohl 3y agoYeah the figuring it out part feels good sometimes, but since it's rarely the same thing that goes wrong each time then the learning doesn't actually help much. Hence the repair man who supposedly does stuff like this all day frequently not finding the root cause. Or if it is the same thing each time, that's equally frustrating.
