Last year I drove my bosses fulled specced out Cadillac Escalade and I was blown away.
My best friend has owned a M3 since launch and nothing in it even compares.
The inside is pure luxury and it feels like you are driving a boat on a bed of feathers.
It has features like audio zones. Notifications and alerts came from different speakers (or sounded like it) than other sound effects or the music itself.
The driving alerts/hazard indicators were piped into the subwoofer under the seat providing a real feedback instead of an annoying beep the whole car hears.
The way it allowed multiple phones to connect and the ease of all the electronics integrated into the dashboard was amazing.
I was a big fan boy but not after borrowing that car for a week.

When I looked at that versus a Navigator (we really wanted a full third row, not a baby third row), a bit of bling, like you say, but the glitz and glam wore off quickly. The Navigator definitely feels dated in terms of electronics. My RS 5, though? A lot of thought went into many things. I can just drop my phone in the center console. Wireless charging, wireless CarPlay, AND a cellular amplifier for signal boosting right under the phone.
