Why are people climate change deniers? Study reveals unexpected results
- mech422 3y agoTLDR: Half the people in the second group needed $20 :-P
- hilbert42 3y agoI think we're all likely to suffer some degree of self-deception and I've occasionally seen it in myself but deep down my rational self keeps telling me such thinking is bunkum and I'm left with no option other than to change my view. From experience self-deception is different to being wrong about things. I'm often factually wrong about matters and whilst I'm often surprised to learn about it I'm always thankful that I've been corrected. The question remains why do many of us find self-deception worrying whilst others are quite happy to live with it.

- magicalhippo 3y agoI'm totally not a climate change denier and I'd probably hang on to the $20. After all $20 would do f all to combat climate change, even if everyone in my country donated. So I'm not convinced this study tells us that much.
