There is a really interesting idea here for future makers of power-user software: Can we harness peoples' familiarity with games and gaming to make the user interfaces of the future? Everything is trying to look like Microsoft word today, but perhaps the design example for the next UIs for professional software should be StarCraft or WoW or Baldur's Gate instead.
