A Practical Guide to Quitting Your Smartphone
- gnicholas 3y ago> The 1,200-person company pays the cost of a flip phone for employees who give up their smartphone, and 80 people have acted on the offer. Hm, so about 7 percent. Not terrible, but not exactly something to write home about. I feel like there are definitely times that I'd like to be in dumbphone mode, and times where I'd want to be able to use Uber, use Find My to locate a family member, or use Maps to navigate. I contemplate getting a cellular-enabled Apple Watch so that I could add friction to some of the time-wastey stuff I do on my phone, while still being able to do the basics. I probably wouldn't actually get a flip phone though, since that would require a separate SIM and would be kind of a pain to manage.
