- dang 3y agoHN is different from Twitter. The reason users (correctly) flag such comments here is that we're trying for a specific kind of site (https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html https://news.ycombinator.com/newsguidelines.html). One thing I often say (to a certain type of commenter) is that this isn't an ethical or moral rule—it's more like a game. Different games have different rules. If you're playing chess you don't get to tackle the bishop. Think of the site guidelines like game rules, not a moral code.
