Much as I hate lawyers and class-action lawsuits, I'd be willing to bet EA gets taken to court over this if Apple doesn't punish them. I'm not a lawyer, but I'd imagine that one could argue in court that there's an implied warranty that your app won't just quit functioning on some arbitrarily chosen date.
