- hardware2win 3y agoSoftware engineeers dont work directly with hardware, it aint their expertise. You definitely can be good SE without understanding semiconductors
- literalAardvark 3y agoThe problem is that you can also be a programmer without understanding any engineering at all, and most "software engineers" are just that.
