Very generous way to apply the term "diet"
- sneed_chucker 3y agoNo it isn't. The way that it's being applied is the standard definition.
- h4ch1 3y agoDiet doesn't mean the same as in the phrase "going on a diet", it just means a common collection of food a people eat.
- OJFord 3y agoGP may have that confusion, but in case it's not clear: my point was that that's just 'a bad diet', frankly, it's not what I think of when someone says 'Western diet', it isn't my (British) diet. I thought it was going to be some kind of discovery about, idk, potatoes and milk and olive oil or something. Or the way it's cooked. They could just say 'High-sugar diet can accelerate cell aging', there's nothing particularly 'Western' about it, and presumably excess sugar consumption from 'Eastern' foods is just as effective.
