Don't chase f*** you money
- eimrine 3y agoStoicism has disclosured this topic 2000+ years ago.
- Towaway69 3y agoCapitalism is a game where the goal is to get out of the game. With enough money the rules of capitalism no longer apply. Wanting to be rich is just a search for an exit strategy. Once found, the game ends.
- pmzy 3y agoThe problem is that it rarely really ends. That's human nature, we always want more. People get rich and they want to be richer.
- Towaway69 3y agoThe neverending game of monopoly. Capitalism could do well with a redistribution button. IIRC it was the Babylonians that made a reset on all debt each time a new king came to power. Debt was simply wiped out and everyone restarted on a more level playing field. Our form of capitalism could do well with such an instrument.

- Towaway69 3y ago> The biblical rules concerning sabbatical years are still observed by many religious Jews in Israel, but the practices prescribed for the Jubilee year have not been observed for many centuries. According to current interpretation of Torah in contemporary Rabbinic Judaism, the observance of the Jubilee year only applied when the Jewish people were living in the Land of Israel according to their tribes. Therefore, Jubilee has not been applicable since the destruction of the Kingdom of Israel in 722 BCE by Neo-Assyrian king Sargon II. Have to say, we humans are very creative when it comes to greed!
- gregjor 3y agoGreed and desire for money will always lead to suffering and moral compromise, no matter what you call it. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle… Greed is the root of all evil. Desire is the cause of suffering.
- pmzy 3y agoYes! f-you money is greed. Get rich, just don't become Gordon Gekko :)
