The policy that forced engineers to come to the office at 2 AM twice a year
- MattGaiser 3y agoDid this corporation offer overtime pay? Governments/gov type corporations often do, so I can see that work being desirable for many people. The different internal incentives for employees at entities like that also must be considered. There is no career win for fixing that in a government entity, but there is extra money/extra vacation time to be made just by accepting the problem. At a prior government job, that impeded the move to the cloud as then a bunch of people would lose out on overtime pay.
