I want you to ask yourself, how scary would it be if the population was 70% over the age of 60? You have three scenarios: old people working themselves into a grave, starving in the streets, or you're being taxed like a slave at 70% just to feed them. That sounds like a really scary future to me.
- slashdev 3y agoIt beats the alternatives. Their children will have to help, as is common in many parts of the world.

- slashdev 3y agoThe alternative is poluation grows unbounded until we destroy the biosphere and the wars, famines, and disease that follows finally limit the growth of the human population in a way we're unable and unwilling to do. Infinite growth is incomaptible with a finite world. This is so much better than that.
