Did the author really upgrade from a X220? If so, wow what an upgrade. These caught my eye but my Linux computer is a T480 and despite the i5-8350U getting a bit long in the tooth, it is still going strong. I did upgrade the memory to 32GB, the NVME drive to 1TB, and added some WiFi 6 support via a AX200NGW swap.
- thcipriani 3y agoI went back and forth between the X220 and the X230t (pictured in the article). It is a nice upgrade. But it was still difficult to justify the upgrade to myself—spending money on laptops is never something I relish. And the X230/220 were both chugging along—they struggled with the modern internet more than day-to-day software tasks.
