Even if Intel makes a thing that doesn't mean it's actually any good.
I had some of those Intel ULV parts back in the day. They sucked.
- timschmidt 3y agoI'm not sure what you had back in the day, but even Intel's E cores these days are spritely. Gone are the days of slow Atom cores. Pretty sure an equivalently clocked Intel E core of today beats the fastest Intel core ever shipped in an Apple product.
- whynotminot 3y agoNeither here nor there--when Apple needed Intel to ship a decent, performant core that didn't overheat and chew through battery life, they could not. Apple switched to their own silicon, and life for their customers has radically improved. Maybe Intel has a great E Core now. Good for them if they do.
- timschmidt 3y agoIt sounds like Apple just wanted to vertically integrate, to me. Which is a fine reason to do something. But doesn't require misrepresenting competitors or constructing a past which never happened. You do you though.
- evilduck 3y agoIntel laptops cant even sleep anymore. I have a 11th Gen Intel space heater that invalidates every claim you've made in this thread. People aren't stupid, we've owned these shitty Intel products for years, you're fooling nobody.
- jujube3 3y agoYeah, this is ridiculous. This guy is trying to claim both the Intel has good power consumption numbers, and that Apple should have added more fans to their Intel laptops. Has Intel discovered the secret of creating heat without using energy? Because according to the laws of physics I was taught, the need to festoon your computer with numerous fans means that... you're dissipating tons of energy.
