Ironically India has a very significant amount of transactions cashless/electronic, pushed by demonetization and later covid. The government has been pushing hard for it for a while and I think they succeeded.
- ggm 3y agoYes. My comparison was to the wider indian paperwork processes, not money, where India is stellar. Uruguay is another economy which has gone all-in on cashless, shops and cafes had to offer 10% discount for card transactions when I was there 8 years ago, the idea was to beat out the tax-avoidance.
