I wish in the US we had some form of privacy protection as in the EU. What the EU has is not perfect, but I wish we had it. My understanding is that one man, Senator Chuck Schumer, blocks any meaningful privacy legislation in his committee. A one man privacy wrecking ball. I read somewhere that his two daughters have high paying jobs at, I think, Meta and Microsoft. EDIT: my point is that if we had better privacy, then corporations would have less information to sell.
