In my experience, if you want a raise or promotion, you need a new job.
You must always be cognizant of the carrot being held out in front that you will never get.
- bluGill 3y agoIn a good large company they open up jobs in other departments to current employees first. However if you apply your manager is consulted on if you are allowed to move. There are also promotions to management or architecture - both of which you may or may not want (and remember you may change your mind on this in a few years!)
