Do you still call restaurants to order food?
It seems that with online ordering, etc., phone ordering is a thing of the past. I'm curious to know who is still calling to order food and why you still do that. And a further question: do you think AI will make phone orders more popular?
- zzo38computer 3y agoI do sometimes call by telephone to order food for take out, so that it will be ready by the time that whoever will pick it up (who knows I am calling to place the order), will do so. If I eat at the restaurant then I will just order when I get there. About AI, I don't know.
- k310 3y agoWhen I'm lonely, I call and converse with the AI chatbot. JUST KIDDING. I hate talking to anyone but a human. I press 0 five or ten times until a human answers. When I was much younger, pizza places stopped taking phone orders after we ordered pizzas for unsuspecting teachers. Cash on delivery. Then some damn fool invented the credit card.
- bbkane 3y agoI still call. It's easier than managing different web pages and payment portals.
- ddingus 3y agoYes. My favorite places have maintained their service. A phone call as I jump into the car for my drive home is easy. Until it isn't, I will continue. The best thing is expertise found on the other end of the line. That saves me a few times per year. Online can be a lot of work. Get an account Locate items Pick side options Etc... I have spent 10 minutes placing my own order knowing a few minute call will do. Not a fan.
