Did not expect to see something related to channel 5 on hn. He does interesting and entertaining journalistic content on a wide variety of topics. I recommend his recent video 'San Francisco Streets' for 'education' and 'The Hoff Twins' for something more entertainment based.

TLDW: you need to make a 5:55 length video about something in your community to apply.

I’ve said it elsewhere and I’ll stand by it: I think C5 is doing the best investigative journalism today by a mile. I’m a Patreon supporter and am regularly left with my jaw on the floor with the level of coverage Andrew gets and that’s a rare thing. Dude is a gangster. I love it. Seems like an amazing opportunity for a young journalist.

Channel 5 has early Vice vibes... I think it will be huge, but I wonder what will get compromised along the way.

Honestly the fact that they are backed by Tim&Erics Absolutely productions gives me hope T&E aren’t really out for money, in a weird way I would trust them more to be honest brokers cause they have literally nothing to lose by speaking truth to power Edit: Can’t have shit! goddamn! https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=39186400 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=39186400

Andrew had a number of accusations of sexual misconduct leveled against him https://www.complex.com/pop-culture/a/jadegomez510/andrew-callaghan-comeback-following-accusations https://www.complex.com/pop-culture/a/jadegomez510/andrew-ca... figured folks would want to know so they can decide if they'd like to continue supporting channel 5

He made an apology video, took ownership for his actions, and said he was getting help in the form of therapy. He was accused of groping, forcing someone to touch his genitalia, and coercing someone to have sex. Immature people make mistakes and he owned up to them. Huge move because a lot of people can’t do that. He is providing insights in a way we do not see from main stream media. As long as he does not revert then he shouldn’t be shunned for his past misdeeds. Here is his response that was omitted - https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=928A7ubdO8cg9feZ&embeds_referring_euri=https%3A%2F%2Fvariety.com%2F&source_ve_path=MTY0OTksMTY0OTksMjg2NjQsMTY0NTA2&feature=emb_share&v=aQt3TgIo5e8 https://m.youtube.com/watch?si=928A7ubdO8cg9feZ&embeds_refer...
