I used Firefox full time years ago (5+) and absolutely had to fill in more captchas. I remember thinking it all the time. I also remember seeing a lot of "Must be opened in chrome," sort of things google related. Chrome has your google auth SSO built in so I think chrome skips that skip, whether it's malevolent or necessary I wouldn't know.
