- rmason 3y agoI am continually amazed at what was old is now new again. It was a bit before my time but there used to be a restaurant chain started in the depression called Automat where you'd pay for your food and they'd give you a key that let you open a locker to get your food. They were quite popular in the NYC area but according to my folks never really caught on in the Midwest.
