While the reduction in construction sand usage is great it's environmental impact is mainly due to the mining operations to get it. What really needs more focus is to stop using Portland cement based concrete. The massive carbon footprint of the creation of Portland cement is one of these things that environmentalist seem to ignore. They tell us drive electric cars reduce air travel so on and so forth all of these things that impact individuals but make a very small dent in environmental impact. Switching away from Portland cement based concrete and into geopolymer-based ones is a massive reduction in carbon emissions. People talk about Big oil and the environment and that's all the red herring compared to the carbon footprints of Portland cement. It seems and no one in the cement industry really cares about eliminating Portland cement.

It would capture approx. 100Kg per ton of cement produced.https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2114680119 https://www.pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pnas.2114680119
