If you appear personable (and apparently you do based on the feedback) you're already more than half way there. I would say, maybe you present your achievements was a "detached" demeanor? Maybe you don't sound proud, excited or passionate enough when recounting facts and outcomes? I'm kind of shooting from the hip I guess, but it's obviously hard to tell if there is a problem or just bad luck.
