- jruohonen 3y agoIn Finnish there is also a nasty yet much more eloquent saying.
- lifeisstillgood 3y agoWell don’t leave us hanging :-) With pronunciation please !
- jruohonen 3y agoI can actually think about three highly idiomatic expressions, none of which translate well, and some of which apparently younger Finns neither understand any longer. The most obvious would be something along "who is given and who receives". But as said, the pun doesn't translate that well.
- spidersenses 3y agoPlease share them (also in the Finnish translation). I'd love to learn them.
- ahazred8ta 3y agoPutting a word in for Jo Dee Messina's enthusiastic breakup anthem, "My Give-a-Damn's Busted" - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Give_a_Damn%27s_Busted https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/My_Give_a_Damn%27s_Busted I really want to care / I want to feel somethin' / Let me dig a little deeper ... ... Naw, Sorry, Nothin' / My give a damn's busted.
- ThrowawayR2 3y agoIf we're putting in plugs, I'll nominate the comically jolly and rather catchy "I've No More Fucks To Give" from Thomas Benjamin Wild Esq.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8Rsretl-qQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8Rsretl-qQ I find myself humming it far more often that I really should.
