Just personal anecdote. I have no medical problems but moved away from the US specifically due to the fear of healthcare costs. I actually only ever tried to use my insurance once in an emergency, I even called the insurance during the emergency and told them the hospital I was at, and they told me it would be covered, and I ended up having to pay a large portion of my years salary for a broken leg, even though I had full coverage. Where I am now I’ve never had to wait for anything longer than in the US and I don’t have to live my life in fear of life shattering bills if I get sick or injured.. which is worth its weight in gold.
