Worked so well in 1860
- dynisor 3y agoI don't think the 14th Amendment existed in 1860.
- h2odragon 3y agoit didn't. There was still a successful effort to keep the popular Republican candidate off the ballots. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1860_United_States_presidential_election https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1860_United_States_presidentia...
- dynisor 3y agoThe section you are talking about is marked as [citation needed]. So, I googled it and this[1] was one of the first results and it seems to disagree with that analysis. FactCheck.org[2] also looks like it agrees with the USA Today article. - bediger4000 3y agoWait so popularity matters? What about the wisdom of the Electoral College?
- halJordan 3y agoCongrats, now you know the whole "it's an anti democratic scam" is a thought terminating cliche that doesn't reflect reality.
- Gibbon1 3y agoPersonally I think politically the US is way too far down the normalization of deviance road. My attitude is if your going to ignore the 14th amendment and put Trump on the ballot why even have laws.
