- bluefirebrand 3y agoIn no particular order Jade Empire Fallout 2 Pathfinder: Kingmaker Neverwinter Nights Divinity Original Sin (1, not 2) Dragon Age: Origins I was hesitant to share my own picks because I feel that it's only inviting criticism, but I decided to assume good faith and trust that you are genuinely curious and not just looking for ammunition to nitpick me. I will freely admit that most of these don't have the most incredible stories either. But they are all CRPGs I enjoyed vastly more than Baldur's Gate 3.
- corethree 3y agoYeah that's not a common list. Planescape torment is frequently listed as the best (in terms of writing only). No criticism here but your preferences are different enough that I would say your definitions of good and bad are outside the shared reality people usually talk about when they refer to what's the best crpgs. The below would match a more common ranking that most people would have: https://youtu.be/jGT0YlNYpmQ?si=0J8aTlWIoiCuSklf https://youtu.be/jGT0YlNYpmQ?si=0J8aTlWIoiCuSklf
- davidivadavid 3y agoI was genuinely curious to find some games I may not have tried. Thanks for the suggestions!
