Agree if you can find a reputable agency that adds value and get taken on. A lot of so-called agencies are really "body shops" who fill empty chairs, and outsourcing firms that fill a stable and treat their people like employees. If the so-called agency takes anyone on and promises to find work with no vetting, industry connections, or tech expertise I'd find a better agency. Having an agency represent you and do the marketing, legal, and billing makes sense, that's just outsourcing your non-billable time to someone more efficient at it.
